Specialized experience is defined as experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. For the GS-09:
You must have one year specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 in the Federal service. Examples are:
Present programs to groups on agency programs and activities; Organize and coordinate print and broadcast news and information media interviews with key organization officials; Interpret technical and recreation data to develop content for mobile gaming or recreation apps; Review print, broadcast, and internet media to analyze public awareness and attitudes regarding organization and activities; Advise management on the probable public reaction to specific proposals, policies and actions. OR a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., directly related to the position from an accredited college or university; OR an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
