Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. For the GS-5:
You must have three years of general experience, one of which was equivalent to at least a GS-4 grade level that has been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible positions and demonstrated the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions, plan and organize work, and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Examples could include:
Prepared, deposited and entered collection deposits; Prepared, submitted and tracked purchase requests; Prepared travel advances and travel vouchers for employees; OR a bachelors degree or a successfully completed four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work OR an appropriate combination of experience and post high school education as described above. For the GS-7:
One year of specialized experience equal to the GS-5. Examples could include:
Assisted in activities such as planning, preparation, and maintenance of a unit budget; Recommended transfer of funds between object class and functional accounts under the same appropriation or between appropriations; Assisted or participated in the development and planning of the unit's budget, including the use of an automated system to accomplish these tasks; OR one full year of graduate education (18 semester hours/27 quarter hours) in a finance, accounting or directly related program of study from an accredited college or university, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. One year of specialized experience equal to the GS-7. Examples could include:
Assisted with routine budget analysis functions such as development, preparation, and revision of the budget, fund estimates, and project plans; Provided required data and assistance in developing budget and program planning summaries; Assisted in the review and coordination of budgetary documents, allocations, and operating budgets; Performed analysis of unit budget needs. OR a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., in finance, accounting or a directly related program of study from an accredited college or university. OR an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours/27 quarter hours may be combined with experience to qualify applicants for this grade level) as described above. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT:
If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
