Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to successfully perform the duties of this position. For the GS-5:
You must have three years of general experience, one of which was equivalent to at least a GS-04 grade level that has been gained in administrative, professional, technical, investigative, or other responsible positions and demonstrated the ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions, plan and organize work, and communicate effectively orally and in writing. Examples could include:
Prepared, deposited and entered collection deposits; Prepared, submitted and tracked purchase requests; Prepared travel advances and travel vouchers for employees; OR a bachelors degree or a successfully completed four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work; OR an appropriate combination of experience and post high school education as described above. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
